Our Story

Once upon a time, a princess named Anam and Bollywood star Richie were looking for their missing piece. Luckily, both Anam and Richie were on the same online platform searching for a magical romantic connection. Weeks went by and Richie could not find the perfect match, until one exciting evening Richie stumbled upon a beautiful girl's profile. Richie instantly noticed they had similar traits and interests. After liking Anam's profile, Richie waited impatiently for Anam to reciprocate. On that same night, a dashing man caught Anam's eye. Noticing Richie's profile reflected that he is God fearing, she did not hesitate to like his profile. Richie's phone lit up with a notification saying its a match and the rest, well...... we're #Philipinstuck

Since the beginning of 2023, Richie believed his relationship with Anam had progressed beautifully and certainly knew it was time to bend the knee. Only one question remained - how was he going to do it?

Richie & Anam had a friend's wedding to attend in Dallas one April weekend. Since Anam resides in Austin, Richie decided to take advantage of the opportunity of Anam being in town for the weekend. Richie mentioned to Anam that she was going to meet few of his work friends who enjoy upscale fine dining. Trying to be as believable as possible, Richie then explained to Anam that his friends reserved an expensive restaurant in the middle of a garden (Really?? this doesn't sound believable at all, leave us a comment on whether it does).

Richie had picked out a Japanese Garden and the exact spot where he wanted to propose to Anam in the Garden beforehand. When Richie brought Anam to the "Spot" after a long barefooted walk (since Anam took her heels off), he made sure to have her back against a Japanese tea house where family members were hiding. Once Richie nervously stuttered random words out of his mouth, he directed Anam to turn around where she saw family members holding the "Marry Me" sign. Immediately after Anam saw the sign, Richie got on one knee to propose. Anam gave a big smile and said YES!!. #Philipinstuck

Meet wanna be Hrithik Roshan. Roger likes to stare in the mirror for long periods of time and think he is a Bollywood actor (Lets seek help). From the gully (streets) of Mumbai to the gully (streets) of Dallas my brother has been an inspiration and a role model who paved a path for me growing up. I have many fond memories with my brother but one that will never leave my memory is him walking around in tidy whities inside the house. My brother and I share a lot of things in common such as: our love for fitness, tech, Bollywood and food, but I had hoped this one thing we would never share - our hairlines. Although our hairline has been disappearing, our bond over how to recover our hair has been growing, Turkey here we come...... Jokes aside, he is one of the hardest working person I know and I am grateful to call him my brother and someone who will always live up to the title "Big Bro".

Meet Randy, the angry league of legends (Video Game) player. I met Randy for the first time during freshman year of college. My first glance towards Randy I thought to myself, what is this middle school kid doing in college but his maturity and level of knowledge said otherwise. Randy utilizes words in his vocabulary that makes you question your level of education, therefore, I would stay away from picking an argument with him. Being around Randy is always exciting as he leaves you wondering what will come out of his mouth next. What I admire about Randy the most is his dedication to his craft. After a long and bumpy road which I have seen him endure, he held on with determination to achieve success. Randy is a true friend that always hopes for the best in others and has continuously pushed me to grow as an individual.

Meet Josh, the ricer car modifier. You will know exactly when Josh enters your neighborhood as his 4 cylinder Honda Accord revs to redline and the exhaust pipes roar. Have you ever wondered who the random guy is with a loud car zooming past your street at midnight? Yup, that's Josh. I had the pleasure to meet Josh in high school history class. Just like his car, he was the loudest person in class which made me introduce myself to him, and 10 years later he is till one of my closest friends. If you get to know Josh there will be two things you will never see him do, 1 - not smile and 2 - worry. Josh is one of the happiest and calmest person I know and will cheer you up during your not so great days. However, Josh is a ruthless nurse in the emergency room as he will smack you around for coming into the ER for non emergencies or due to bad decisions.

Meet Ajin, who believes he is a pro football player (HAHAH). Every time I am part of Ajin's football team I end up losing, I think it's time for Ajin to retire as a football player. Ajin and I went through all of high school together, therefore we have great teenage memories of playing sports, video games, sleepovers and just hanging out. When you are around Ajin, you don't have to worry about how to act as you can truly open up and be yourself. Ajin is a laid back individual that goes with the flow and will be down to do anything (as long as there is food). One of Ajin's greatest talent is that he will finish all of his food and then he will finish all of your food. The trick is to finish your food before he finishes his. One of Ajin's greatest quality is that he never gets angry which speaks volume.

Meet Dennis, the car enthusiast. You will find Dennis in a new car every 6 months. He gets bored of driving the same car and likes to change it up. I am surprised he hasn't gotten bored of me yet and hasn’t replaced me with someone else. The perks of Dennis enjoying driving so much is that he has been the crew's Uber driver for years. I have known Dennis for as long as seeing his head go from a full head of hair to bald egg shaped head. Sadly I will be joining him soon (unless...#Turkey). Dennis is one of the most non-judgemental and nicest person I know, he never puts others down and always looks at the bright side. Dennis is someone you can reach out for help and he wouldn't hesitate to show up.

Meet Akhil, my adopted younger brother. Since I experienced my older brother picking on me, I also wanted a little brother to pick on, therefore, I chose Akhil. One of the ways I picked on Akhil was by making him help me clean my 1998 run down Toyota Corolla which had no door handles (poor kid, does this count as child labor?). I have seen Akhil grow up from elementary school to now graduating from college. In other words, I saw him go from looking like a fluffy ball of fur to now an athletic build (I will take credit for this). When you are around Akhil you will notice that he lightens up the mood with his laughter and matches your energy level. Akhil is a good hearted and respectful individual.

Meet Zeal, the Day 1. Zeal is the definition of "Day 1" as he is the first friend I made when I moved to the U.S. The moment I thought I wouldn't find an Indian friend in the apartments we lived at, both Zeal and I locked eyes on each other one beautiful day and instantly fell in love. We ran towards each other in slow motion like the Bollywood movies and the rest is history. Zeal hasn't changed in the slightest bit since we met, he is still the light hearted and outgoing person I have always known. Zeal has been the friend I can rely on and someone who always checks up on me to make sure I'm doing okay.

Meet Neil, south India's Don and my first cousin. I don't have recent memories with Neil since I moved to the states, however, I recall having amazing childhood memories with him. When I resided in India, I used to get dropped off to his house for the entire summer break. One of my favorite memories is when we used to go out to a huge tamarind tree next to the house and start throwing rocks at the tree so we could recover fresh tamarind to eat. Then I have other memories that I can’t seem to get rid of such as taking baths together....umm....anyways. Neil is someone who is constantly cracking jokes so being around him is always a pleasure, although most of his jokes don't land.

Meet Daniel eh, my Canadian maple syrup and my first cousin. All I remember is Daniel being a short skinny kid and then BAM! the next time I saw him he was taller than me with a full lumberjack beard. I definitely feel threatened by him but he still can't take me down. Despite his physical appearance, Daniel's personality is soft and kind by nature. Daniel is an remarkable artist and his level of creativity is truly an encouragement. Daniel is the owner of a custom shoe designing company called "DKAI Customs". I am excited to see where Daniel's talent leads him in the future. Every time I see Daniel there is a new piercing or tattoo somewhere, I am looking forward to see where the next one will lead me.

Meet Anmol, aka my partner in crime. Di and I have done everything together, literally everything from bubble baths when we were kids, matching outfits to a point where others thought we were actually twins, to going to college together - hook'em always. She has been an amazing role model, a second mom/at-home principal trying to teach me how to write in hindi, and a best friend. I couldn't imagine growing up without having her by my side. It's crazy how fast we grew up, from taking bubble baths together as kids, I am now helping you give baths to your daughter/my adorable niece. It's been a blessing to have you to look up to, and I couldn't imagine anyone else right beside me on my big day.

Meet Prerna, better known as Jumpy. Jumpy and I met in church and we instantly bonded over our love for praise and worship. From practicing for church concerts together to now not missing a single event for each other, you can definitely say we have become family more than just friends. Jumpy can find a way to brighten up a tough crowd, and she's definitely brightened up my life, especially over the last few years. It's been a blessing to have spent the past few years surrounded by someone who is as understanding, relatable, and loving as Jumpy is.

Meet Baylee, someone who might not look like my sister, but definitely is a sister. We met during our first day at UT Austin, and were a bit surprised that we had the same schedule for our first year. That surprise turned into gratefulness, because I can't imagine going through college without this girl dragging me around campus every year. If you need to know any secrets about me, she's that one you should bribe. My next goal is to find a way to bring her up to Dallas with me.

Meet Bethany, my protector since high school. Bethany and I met in freshman year of high school and have been inseparable since. Bethany has a huge heart, is extremely caring and is very protective of me, so you'll probably have to go through Bethany if you ever mess with me. I know I can always count on Bethany regardless of how long it has been since we've had a chance to spend time together. She's an amazing human from the inside and out. I'm on a mission to convince her to relocate her traveling nurse career to Dallas.. wish me luck!

Meet Rabail, an amazing friend who definitely knows how to live in the moment and will keep you entertained the entire time you're with her. There's never a dull moment with this girl. We share our love for dogs, coffee, and the most important of them all.. Bollywood! Driving over to Summermoon blasting Shah Rukh Khan's classic songs has become a core memory. Thankful that we have grown to become great friends, just like our moms. We have to carry the legacy of the Zaki-Gilani sisterhood, right? Excited to have you beside me on my big day!

Meet Hope, a girl that will literally give you hope. Hope is one of the most positive, radiant, and uplifting people that I've been blessed to know. Her dedication and love for Christ at such a young age has always been so admirable and her personality reflects just that. No matter what you might be feeling, you'll leave with a smile after talking to Hope. Along with being a beautiful soul, this girl is a beautiful dancer! She has definitely surprised all of us with her Bollywood moves. I'm so happy to have you beside me on my special day!

Meet Faith, and just to confirm your thoughts - yes, Faith and Hope are twin sisters. When I first met Faith, she was a bit more introverted and quiet, but over the years that I've known her, that has definitely changed. Faith has a very genuine and caring spirit, and she certainly knows how to light up a room. One of my favorite memories is years ago when I was walking her though a choreographed dance, I assumed it would take me a few times until she could follow along. How wrong was I.. this girl had it down after the first round. I wouldn't be shocked if Faith can out-dance everyone else at our wedding. She is a fun, light-hearted person and someone I can always count on.

Meet Mercy, one of the most selfless and helpful girls I know. Mercy and I met through my uncle, but we built our bond through church. From church worship concerts, prayer meetings and spending every family event with each other to now my wedding, I’m so excited for us to share another milestone side by side.

Meet Swati, someone who I’ve never seen not smiling. Swati has been an indescribable friend, one that feels like an older sister more than just a friend. She’s been a trustworthy, always comforting, positive shining light in my life and it’s a blessing to have her in my life. She’s been counting down to our wedding day ever since Richie proposed, and I’m so excited to have someone that has been so happy about Richie and I to be a part of our big day!
