Cultural Ceremony
The groom ties the Minnu around the bride’s neck (Minnu is a symbol of Christianity, its a gold medallion shaped like a heart with a cross. The heart symbolizes the concept of love. The cross represents the relationship a husband and wife must follow). The seven threads for the Minnu are taken from the Manthrakodi, the bride’s traditional wedding garment (presented by the groom as a first gift) (These 7 strands stand for the parents of the groom and bride, the groom, the bride and Jesus).
